The Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2010
Photograph shows some of the Christmas Shoeboxes that we have ready to be sent off
We are taking part this year again in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
The TEAM HOPE Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2010 is organised by the same people, (the same staff in Dublin and all the same volunteer teams around the country) who, as part of Samaritan’s Purse, ran Operation Christmas Child for the last eleven years.
Now it’s an Irish project; it's no longer part of Samaritan’s Purse. Working through a long established group of international partnerships, the shoebox gifts will be given into the hands of a needy child, irrespective of his or her race, religion, ethnicity, or background - who all equally deserve a shoebox gift. The only criteria for receiving a shoebox is the need of the child.
This year, the TEAM HOPE shoeboxes from Ireland will go to street children, orphans, kids in hospital, poor families, victims of war or other needy situations in the following countries:
Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union:
Romania
Transnistria
Eastern Croatia
Armenia
Ukraine
Africa:
Burundi
Rwanda
Congo
Lesotho
Swaziland
Mozambique
Zimbabwe
