Film Evaluations

Matilda by Moesha Dreelan (5th Class)

Matilda is my film evaluation.
Matilda is an unusual and an unforgettable film. Matilda’s parents are so strict that they don't let her go to school. The principal in the school is a nasty, frightening and a shocking person. Matilda’s teacher, Miss Honey is a sweet, kind and a loving teacher. Miss Honey and Matilda had dinner together in Miss Honey's house. Matilda is a very smart girl in school. For example, she out-smarted the class in a maths sum. Matilda asked Miss Honey to adopt her because she did not like her parents.
Matilda is a brilliant film. I saw Matilda on a school tour with all my friends. My friends and I loved it and you will too. Matilda will appeal to those who like heart-warming and comical films. It is suitable for age-group old and young people. I would recommend it for boys and girls. It is a wonderful, interesting film and full of tension. You can get it as a book or a film.

Animals United by Timara Walsh (5th Class)

The film I am evaluating is called Animals United.
The film is about animals who have to search for water.
The characters in the film are Vulture, Winston, Billy, Büffel Chino, Cook, Bongo, Toby, Angie, Löwe Sokrates, Socrates, Mr. Smith, Billy's son 'Junior', The Koala Bear 'Ken', The Chimpanzee 'Toto' and Schildkröte Winston.
The directors of the film are Reinhard Klooss and Holger Tappe.
I think this film is comical. My favourite moment in the film is when all the animals start running in to the wall to get water because half of the animals were knocked out. I particularly like the chicken because he speaks in a Jamaican voice and this is funny.
Animals United will appeal to those who like amusing films. It is suitable for age-group four to twelve and I recommend it for boys and girls. If you were going to buy the DVD or see it in the cinema, I think you would like it. I liked it a lot. Even my sister Shauna liked it and she is seventeen. Animals United is a brilliant and an unforgettable movie.

The Witches by Jessica Earle Long (4th Class)

This is a film about witches who turn children into mice.
The author is Roald Dahl.
The story is fictional and takes place in a hotel and in a house.
The characters in the story are Luke, his grandma and all of the Witches.
Luke and his grandma went to a hotel. They did not know that there were Witches in the hotel. The Witches had a meeting and they decided that they were going to try and catch all the children in the hotel. They caught Luke. They turned Luke into a mouse. Grandma was very upset when she discovered that Luke was a mouse. Fortunately a good Witch turned Luke back into himself when he was back at his own house. Read this book to find out what happened to the bad Witches.
The Witches will appeal to those who like scary and good films. It is suitable for age-group six up and I recommend it for boys and girls. It is a compelling film.
My sister Kate and I LOVED the film. It had unexpected twists and it was captivating.

BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE
by Eva Joyce (4th Class)

BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE is a film about a little girl called Opal. She wants a friend. Her Mum left her and her Dad when she was little. The story is fictional. The characters in the film are Opal, the dog Winn-Dixie, Opal's Dad and Opal's friends.
At the beginning of the film, Opal is miserable. We wonder if she will ever be happy again. One day, Opal is on her way to the mall and meets a dog, Winn-Dixie. Winn-Dixie has no owner so Opal brings him home. Opal's dad does not like dogs but he gets to know Winn-Dixie so he lets him stay. Opal makes lots of friends because of Winn-Dixie.
I think this is a lovely film. My favourite moment in the film is when Opal met Winn-Dixie. I liked this because when Winn-Dixie saw Opal, he smiled. I loved the character Winn-Dixie because he was a loveable, cheeky and a smart dog. BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE will appeal to those who like wonderful films. It is suitable for age-group six to a hundred and I recommend it for males and females. This film can come as a book. This is a very interesting film. My sister and I think this film was heart-warming and touching. We also think Winn-Dixie the dog was a very funny character. I hope if you watch the film, you will like it too.
